This album cover is iconic. Ramones by the Ramones was the punk-rock band's debut album. It also contains arguably their best work, featuring my personal favourite of their entire catalogue -- Judy Is a Punk. I don't think you'll find a better album cover that features all four band members in their regular get-up.
Franco-American hip-hop from Afro Jazz and featuring Ol' Dirty. I've never seen this before, but O.D.B. looks at the top of his game. Watch for the gangster whose face has been blurred to protect his identity. Thug life!
Click here to read my latest music review just posted at the Oyster Mag website. This month, Van She's debut album V gets a write-up. I'm pretty impressed by this album and was fortunate enough to get a live glimpse of these guys at one of their recent 'Van She Party' gigs. Of the twelve tracks on this LP, I have six on high rotation -- a large number for any new addition to my library. Below is the clip for Strangers, perhaps Van She's biggest hit for the year but by no means the greatest song on this album. That honor goes to The Sea.
I've got a thing for female musicians this month. They're making kick-ass songs and some really impressive film clips. Here's Natasha Kahn from Bat For Lashes riding a pushie along some dark, enchanted forest highway. She looks unreal. Go girls!
Lovin' this video clip right now. I know... it's been out for a while. But that one shot where the camera tilts down to the stray wolf, well it needs a special mention. I think it's just too rad. Take a look at this clip. It's directed by the same dude that created the ultra-gay music video for the Presets track This Boy's In Love.
