Johnnie Walker: The Man Who Walked Around The World. A wonderful new advertisement/short promoting the famous scotch whiskey. I caught this half way through at the cinemas recently. Wasn't sure what it was all about, but if you watch it from the beginning it's quite an interesting story. Stars Robert Carlyle from The Full Monty.

This is FANTASTIC! And the effects work is seamless. I'd still like to see Bruce Lee take on Forrest Gump.....

Adidas Cantina? Hmm.

I don't know if this is kinda okay or just really bad. I'm leaning towards bad. I love the original Star Wars films and the cantina is one of my favourite scenes. But here the cutting just doesn't feel right. And Snoop Dogg with a lightsaber? Sheeeeeeeet. After Samuel L's turn as the hilarious Mace Windu, I thought we'd seen enough of brothers playin' jedi for a while. I guess Adidas Originals is trying to capitalise on the looming FIFA World Cup. Sadly, and as much as I dig Originals, I think Nike has their measure for now.



At least it's better than the prequels. Wait a sec. Noel Gallagher? Jesus Christ, I can't watch this anymore.

Excess filmmaking. That's what's on my mind this week. Trash like Sex and the City 2. Franchise shit that's preventing anything half-decent from being made.

Advertising on the other hand... well I don't mind seeing millions of dollars spent to create stuff like this:

Musings from the Most Interesting Man in the World. It hasn't been so prominent in Australia, but this campaign from Dos Equis is huge in the states. It's also one of the best I've seen in a long time.

The thought of a McDonalds hamburger makes me wanna puke, but the MacTime campaign doubled profits for the company after only two years, owing to the release of some pretty slick commercials. I stumbled across these just moments ago and remembered how much I loved the James Dean concept. Oh, and what ever happened to guitar prodigy Nathan Cavalieri? The kid sure could play a gee-tar!
