Angels & Demon-models

Pictures tell a thousand words. I only need one:

'whoa'

The Victoria Secret Fashion Show is pure spectacle. Yes, it's over-the-top, but it does showcase the most beautiful women in the world, together, for one amazing night. And that's why it's more important than Christmas and spending time with your family.

Tame Impala

Had the opportunity to see Tame Impala play a gig in town last night. They're touring nationally to push their debut EP. These promising young dudes (a three-piece) are sure to start a trend of the psychedelic. It will be interesting to see if others pull it off just as well. Tame Impala support MGMT in just a couple of weeks and it might sound outrageous, but I'm just a little more excited to see the former play once more. The EP will knock you out and their live performance will reveal some genuine musical talent. Check it out, man.

Records, Records, Records!

If you thought Championship Vinyl was the one record store you'd wanna visit in this lifetime, think again. Rolling Stone magazine has a neat little article on Pittsburgh's RecordRama archive. 3 million-strong and an estimated 87 percent is not even available on the internet. Take a look:

And here's a 'Little Latin Lupe Lu'. Rob, Dick and Barry from High Fidelity:

Klum in Knickers

Who wouldn't want to play Guitar Hero with Heidi Klum? Here's the advert for the new World Tour edition of the hit game series. Also, watch out for the upcoming Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for 2008. Klum and friends will be back in wings December 3 on CBS (in the states). Check your local guides for more dates.

Great Album Covers: Led Zeppelin

Another gem from Storm Thorgerson (most of the credit should arguably go to his design partner Aubrey Powell it would seem). Photographed by Powell at Giants Causeway, Northern Ireland. Hasselblad 500C with an 80mm lens. The cover was rated #6 on VH1's 50 Greatest Album Covers in 2003. The other-worldly quality of this cover makes it stand out more so than other Zep' albums. And the music, in my opinion, places it in the top 3 albums of their entire discography. But Houses of the Holy is definitely their shining moment cover-wise.

MTV Music

What a great idea by MTV to start a website purely devoted to the thousands of music videos that have graced its channel over the years. From the Buggles classic Video Killed the Radio Star to the most current of clips (see the Killers Human in the prior post), this site just about has it all. 16,000 clips I just read! And the streaming video is pretty decent in quality.

So, where do I start? How about a clip that epitomizes everything that was great about music television when it was launched in the eighties?

The Killers: Spaceman

New track released by the Killers. After hearing Human and now this, I'm curious to listen to the album in its entirety. I'm not sold on this new dance-flavored sound that producer Stuart Price has brought to the studio.

Still, I'm digging their videos. Always classy. That's why I love 'em.
